Carabao Island is next to the world famous island of Boracay. The island has the similarity of what Boracay was before, unspoilt and peaceful. It has been far too long for the island to have not showcase its pockets of white sands, pristine waters and  rich natural resources. A long time ago, the island was called ‘Hambil’ coming from the island’s local dialect. Now renamed as Carabao Island due to its shape, that resembles the water buffalos back. The island is full of nature activities such as cliff diving, spelunking, Carabao riding and beautiful dive spots, that would enthrall divers of its huge corals that are almost 99% alive.

Caticlan Airport

  • The fastest route is through Caticlan Airport (Godofredo P. Ramos).
  • From arrival in Caticlan Airport, a quick ride from either a tricycle or a van to Sambiray Port.
  • The pump boat ride would take approximately 45 minutes to Port Said or Lanas in Carabao Island.
  • Instead of the pump boat ride, there are other options such as a helicopter, that would be exclusive only for Oceans Edge Resort guests which will be opening soon on January 2019.

Kalibo Airport

  • Affordable routes from Kalibo Airport (Aklan) is also an option.
  • From arrival in Kalibo Airport it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours ride through vans, ceres buses and taxis to Caticlan.
  • For public transportation, a quick tricycle ride to Sambiray Port.
  • Then the pump boat ride from Sambiray Port that takes approximately 45 minutes to Port Said or Lanas in Carabao Island.

Since the opening of Boracay, flights are back in its course. Airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Philippine Air Asia, Cebu Pacific, AirJuan and so on are able to take you through direct flights to Caticlan Airport from major cities such as Cebu and Manila as well as El Nido, Clark, Busuanga and Puerto Galera.

Kalibo Airport

Direct flights to Kalibo Airport have its perks for those flying internationally such as Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, Korea and Hong Kong and also for flight stops such as Davao are available from airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Air Asia, Cebu Pacific and Scoot.
